Consumers submitted a total of over 10 million flavor suggestions from many countries.
Some variations of the contest also asked for types of chips and descriptions of flavors. The campaign was promoted through social media ads and YouTube videos.
Customer voted for their favorites on social media drawing to the final top selections.
At some point the campaign even set a Guinness World Record on Facebook for getting 1.5 million new Likes in 24 hours!
The finalist were judged by professionals and the winning ideas were launched as new products in stores everywhere – potato chips in interesting new flavors.
